Business email on your own domain, configured for deliverability from the first message. Authentication, filtering, and DNS records are handled for you.
A client, bank, or partner who receives an invoice from a free personal mailbox reads it as improvised, not established. In Romania's business environment, a domain-matched email address is one of the fastest ways to signal that a company is legitimate and worth doing business with. Professional email is a small investment that pays back in trust every time a message is opened.
Romania's National Cybersecurity Directorate (DNSC) reported that account-compromise incidents jumped 353% in 2025, from 248 cases to 1,125, while phishing incidents rose 70.6% to nearly 5,000 reported cases — with phishing remaining the country's main attack vector. Fraud and attempted fraud incidents climbed 91% in the same period. Romanian accounting firms have been a particular target: in one documented case, hackers took over a company's email account and used it to steal more than €20,000 from the business.
Mailbox providers score every sending domain before a message reaches an inbox. A domain without SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication looks unverified to these filters and gets routed to spam or blocked outright, regardless of how legitimate the sender is. Every quote, invoice, or follow-up lost this way is business the company never knew it lost.
As an EU member state, Romania applies the GDPR alongside national implementing legislation, enforced domestically by the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP). These rules require organizations to apply appropriate technical and organizational security measures to personal data and to report qualifying breaches. Business email, where customer records, contracts, and financial correspondence are routinely exchanged, sits directly within this framework.
Every week spent on an unverified or personal mailbox adds to the risk of account takeover, blocked mail, and fraud. Romanian businesses should move to a verified company domain, implement SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication, and manage email access with the same discipline applied to banking systems. UCN Mail is built to make that shift straightforward — professional email with the authentication, security, and reliability a Romanian business needs to be trusted and reach the inbox.

A Fake ANAF Email Nearly Took Down an Accounting Firm
In one documented case, a small Romanian accounting firm received a spoofed email that appeared to come from ANAF, complete with a "tax regularization form" link that quietly installed ransomware — caught only thanks to a cybersecurity partner's intervention. Business email compromise, including impersonation of tax authorities and executives, is enough of a concern that Romanian financial-crime guidance now recommends dedicated BEC simulation training for finance teams. A properly authenticated business domain is one of the simplest ways to make that kind of spoofing harder to pull off.
99.8% of Romanian Companies Are IMM — and Most Skip Cloud Tools
Romania's business landscape is overwhelmingly small: 99.8% of companies are IMM, well above the EU average of 95%. Yet the EU's Digital Decade 2025 report found only 15.5% of Romanian firms used cloud services, against a 39% EU average — and just 28.7% used any of cloud, AI, or data analytics tools, versus 54.7% across the EU. Moving off a personal or free email account onto proper business email is often the first, easiest step in closing that gap.
Romania Leads the EU in IT Outsourcing — Email Is the Client Handshake
Romania ranked first in the EU and tenth globally in the 2026 Ataraxis Global Outsourcing Talent Index, built on a deep bench of software and services companies working directly with clients abroad. For outsourcing firms and freelance developers pitching international clients, a domain-matched email address signals a serious, established operation before a single call happens.
e-Factura Changed What "Sent" Means for Invoices
Since mid-2024, e-Factura has been mandatory for B2B and B2G transactions in Romania, and since January 2025 it covers B2C invoices too — all routed through ANAF's national platform rather than sent as a plain email attachment. Email still carries everything around that invoice: quotes, confirmations, and client communication, so a secure, reliable inbox remains essential even as the invoice itself moves through SPV.
Getting Started: What You'll Need
Have your domain name ready (or one to register), decide which team members need mailboxes, and set aside about 15–20 minutes to update your domain's DNS records. UCN Mail handles domain verification and authentication setup, so client emails and quotes land reliably — and are much harder for a fraudster to convincingly fake.
Included in every tier, at no extra cost.
Billing is per mailbox — add mailboxes on any tier as your team grows, and change a mailbox's tier anytime from your dashboard. There's no separate account-wide plan to manage.
