Business email on your own domain, configured for deliverability from the first message. Authentication, filtering, and DNS records are handled for you.
A client, supplier, or bank that receives an invoice from a free personal mailbox reads it as unpolished, not professional. In Finland's business environment, a domain-matched email address is one of the simplest signals that a company is properly established and worth trusting with a contract. Professional email is a small investment that pays back in credibility every time a message is opened.
Finland's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC-FI) issued a severe nationwide alert on 9 September 2025 after email account breaches began spreading between organisations at a record pace: by the end of August 2025, it had logged 330 reports of Microsoft 365 account breaches or attempted breaches, including a record 70 cases in August alone, followed by 117 in September and 120 in October despite the alert. Criminals used stolen credentials to log into compromised accounts and exploited them to send further phishing messages and to carry out invoice fraud, with some organisations experiencing dozens of compromised accounts at once. The NCSC-FI has separately flagged CEO fraud as an ongoing threat, where attackers impersonate a senior executive or hijack a real business account to request payment for a fake invoice.
Mailbox providers score every sending domain before a message reaches an inbox. A domain without SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication looks unverified to these filters and gets routed to spam or blocked outright, regardless of how legitimate the sender is. Every quote, invoice, or follow-up lost this way is business the company never knew it lost.
As an EU member state, Finland applies the GDPR alongside national implementing legislation, enforced by the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman. These rules require organizations to implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures for personal data and to report qualifying breaches without undue delay. Under the EU Cyber Resilience Act, manufacturers of connected products must also notify authorities of actively exploited vulnerabilities, and business email — where customer records, contracts, and invoices are exchanged daily — sits within this broader regulatory framework.
Every week spent on an unverified or personal mailbox adds to the risk of account compromise, blocked mail, and invoice fraud. Finnish businesses should move to a verified company domain, implement SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication, enable multi-factor authentication, and verify any payment or bank-detail change through a separate communication channel. UCN Mail is built to make that shift straightforward — professional email with the authentication, security, and reliability a Finnish business needs to be trusted and reach the inbox.

"Toimitusjohtajahuijaus" Is a Recurring Weekly Warning from Traficom
Finland's Cybersecurity Centre flags CEO fraud, or "toimitusjohtajahuijaus," almost every week in its national bulletins — a scammer impersonates company leadership by email and urgently requests a payment or gift cards, sometimes using a hijacked email account to send fake invoices for goods that were never ordered. In April 2026 alone, Traficom logged 87 Microsoft 365 account takeovers, many triggered by convincing phishing messages sent from a compromised partner's own account. A properly authenticated business domain makes it significantly harder for an attacker to spoof your business's identity in the first place.
Finland Runs on E-Invoices — 353 Million of Them in 2025
Finnish businesses have had the legal right to demand electronic invoices since 2020, and the country processed 353.2 million e-invoices in 2025, up nearly 15% year-on-year, with roughly 370,000 business IDs now in the e-invoice address registry. Even with invoicing this digitized, quotes, order confirmations, and everyday client correspondence still run through ordinary email — which is exactly the channel scammers target once the invoice itself is out of reach.
Finland's Business Landscape Runs on Small, Independent Firms
Finland counts over 300,000 registered companies, the vast majority micro-enterprises with fewer than 10 employees, and 41,031 new businesses were registered in 2025 alone. For a founder handling sales, invoicing, and admin single-handedly, a properly secured email setup is one of the simplest ways to close off a real risk without adding headcount.
A Free Webmail Address Still Looks Unfinished to a New Client
Many small Finnish businesses default to a personal Gmail address for convenience, which can look informal next to a competitor emailing from [email protected]. A domain-matched address is a small, low-cost way to look as established as the business actually is.
Getting Started: What You'll Need
Have your domain name ready (or one to register), a short list of who needs a mailbox, and about 15–20 minutes to update your domain's DNS records with your registrar. UCN Mail handles domain verification and authentication setup, so your invoices and client correspondence land reliably — and are far harder for a scammer to convincingly spoof.
